NATIONAL MEALS ON WHEELS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Under the umbrella of Irish Rural Link (IRL), the National Meals on

Network?s vision is of a fully supported Meals on Wheels system
providing community led services dedicated to meeting the nutritional
and social needs of older and vulnerable people to enable them live
independently.
Demand for Meals on Wheels was increasing prior to the pandemic, but
increased significantly during this time. With an ageing population,
demand is expected to continue to increase in the coming years. Meals
on Wheels service providers have been at the forefront of the
Covid-**Apply on the website** pandemic; providing a community-led
initiative while assisting the most vulnerable in our community with
nutritious meals during these challenging times. These social
enterprises maintain vulnerable people?s health, wellbeing, and
independence, enabling them to remain living in the community.
WITH THE INCREASE IN DEMAND FOR THE SERVICE AND THE RECENT LAUNCH OF
AN INTERACTIVE SERVICE MAP AND WEBSITE, WE ARE NOW SEEKING
APPLICATIONS FOR A NATIONAL MEALS ON WHEELS NETWORK DEVELOPMENT
OFFICER TO COORDINATE THE NETWORK AND PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR SERVICE
PROVIDERS.
